Hearts Speak to Hearts Campaign
Dear Parishioners & Friends of Immaculate Conception,
I think you would agree that the coronavirus pandemic has affected us in ways we could never have imagined, not the least of which has been a radical departure from how we typically engage in our life of Faith. While we have had to find different ways to stay close to Christ and to one another, one thing has not changed and never will: Christ is always with us. He never abandons us. I am so proud to be the pastor of Immaculate Conception! During this most challenging time, our parish came together to serve those within our community. We found ways to continue many of our ministries: making calls to those homebound and receiving generous donations to our food box for the Help Center of Federal Point. All while not being able to gather together for Liturgy. I am in awe of the generosity of our parish community, and I thank you! The reality, though, is that the cancellation of all our Liturgies and events during the months of March, April, May and part of June, has had a significant effect on our offertory upon which we are so dependent to fulfill the Church’s mission of spreading the Gospel and caring for those in need. Many of you have given generously via e-giving or by mailing your offertory envelopes directly to the parish, and I am very grateful. We also have the reality, like many organizations, of paying bills, maintaining infrastructure, and running essential programs. Without your generosity, it would be impossible for us to fulfill our mission, which is needed now more than ever. With all of this in mind, I invite you to join our parish community by responding to our “Hearts Speak to Hearts” program. I ask that you please prayerfully consider how you and your family can help Immaculate Conception by financially supporting our ministries, furthering our mission, and reinforcing our future. Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and commitment to Immaculate Conception! In the spirit of St. Francis de Sales, Fr. John McGee, OSFS Pastor |
