We would like to reaffirm that all parents and guardians are the first witness of the faith. "The Christian home is the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith," (CCC, no.1666). When you presented your child for baptism, you promised to bring that child up in the faith. Catechists of the parish are here to support your family on our shared journey of faith. Children's enrollment in our Faith Formation program, or a Catholic school and weekly participation at the Sunday liturgy are expected of every Catholic family.
"Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity." It is the expectation of all Faith Formation families that parents and/or guardians will attend the scheduled workshops for each grade level and Sacrament Preparation.

Absentee Line
While we anticipate that all of our children and youth will regularly attend Faith Formation sessions, we know that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that keep your family from meeting their commitments. Should your child (or children) be too sick or otherwise unable to attend a Faith Formation session, you should leave a message at our Absentee Email at [email protected]. By letting us know in advance of your child’s absence, our catechists are able to be better prepared for their lessons, but we are also able to include your child in prayer for their safety or recovery. Those families with custodial arrangements do not need to email each time, but should contact the Director of Faith Formation or the Youth Minister directly. It is anticipated that families will cover any missed materials from their child's session at home. Please contact the Director of Faith Formation or the Youth Minister for a copy of the materials, or with any questions you may have. |
Parent Stewardship
As a stewardship parish, Immaculate Conception depends on good stewards to make our ministries successful. There are endless possibilities for activities, events, and opportunities for our children and youth, but none of them can be made possible without the support and assistance of our families and households. Parents/guardians are expected to assist in some way so we can do everything possible to expand our program. Let’s teach our youth the ways of stewardship through example. Stop by and see the different activities we already have planned for this year, and how you can help to make them happen! |
