    Liturgical Commission

"Experience has made me realize in my twenty-five years of serving souls the all powerful virtue of this Divine Sacrament: to strengthen hearts in good; to exempt hearts from evil; to console hearts, and in a word, to make hearts God-like in this world, provided that these hearts frequent the Eucharist with faith, purity and devotion."
    -St. Francis de Sales

The Liturgical Commission’s mission is to acknowledge God's presence in our preparation and celebration of liturgical life. This is accomplished through parish catechesis in liturgy and the sacraments, and theology and formation of liturgical ministers.
    1. All liturgical ministers are required to participate in training sessions before participation.
    2. In addition to the above training, ministers are expected to attend a yearly training session to refresh and update their ministry.
    3. Individuals are asked to pray and discern the one liturgical ministry in which they will serve the community. This applies to Altar Server, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion during the Liturgy and to the Sick/Homebound, Greeter, Lector, Music Ministry and Usher.

    ICC Choir

The ICC Choir is a standard, SATB mixed choir, which sings for the 8:30 am liturgy throughout the year. Rehearsals are scheduled normally Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Participation is open to high school youth through adults. The choir facilitates music for the assembly during weekend liturgies, and also sings for occasional events.

    Funeral Choir
The Funeral Choir enhances our Funeral and Memorial liturgies throughout the year. Members are alerted to the time and day of a Funeral or Memorial liturgy. The Funeral Choir rehearses once per month in consultation with the music director. This ensemble is perfect for parishioners who are available during the week, or for those who may not have a schedule suitable for the ICC Choir.

    Cantors
Cantors direct and support the people’s singing. Their ministry is the most visible within our music program. With the assistance of our cantors, the assembly is capable of full and active participation in liturgy through singing. Upon completing an audition with the Music Director, cantors prepare music for assigned liturgies. Cantors rehearse monthly on Thursdays from 8:00 - 8:30 pm. A typical cantor will sing 1-2 liturgies per month.

    Instrumentalists
Instrumentalists are skilled parish musicians who may serve on a regular basis or for special liturgies. All instrumentalists must be approved by the Director of Music. Regular attendance at liturgies for familiarity with parish repertoire and rehearsals is required, as well as personal preparation.

    Ushers

Ushers provide a welcoming presence and sense of hospitality. They serve at the weekend liturgies as well as major feast days and special liturgies. They welcome and assist with seating parishioners, make sure the sanctuary space is utilized properly, assist with the collection(s), and facilitate the presentation of the gifts. Training sessions are required.
